Hey there! I'm Lisa Ryder, your friendly and easy-to-work-with candle enthusiast! Trust me, your success as a retailer is my number one priority. But before we dive in, let's get to know each other a bit, shall we?
Back in the late nineties, after graduating from Conestoga College School of Business with a degree in Sales & Marketing, I fell head over heels for the world of retail. It's been a wild ride ever since! In fact, my passion for selling to retailers led me to receive the prestigious Sales Representative of the Year award from the CGTA (now CanGift) in 2012. I was over the moon, especially since it was retailers like you who voted for me!
Throughout my journey, I've had the pleasure of working with various product lines. However, my heart has always gravitated towards Canadian-made products and those with natural ingredients. I’ve also leaned towards companies that have a charitable component, especially those that benefit the environment. Now, let's talk candles. Oh, how I love candles! But you know what disappoints me? When I come across candles with vague descriptions like "eco-wax" or, worse, no mention of the wax at all. It's like a mystery waiting to unfold. And don't even get me started on those fragrance oils filled with parabens and phthalates. Yikes!
But worry not, my fellow candle lovers, because I've done my research! And guess what? Beeswax and Coconut Wax are the real deal! Not only are they healthy and sustainable, but Beeswax actually helps purify your indoor air by releasing negative ions. Talk about a double win!
So, putting my research to good use, I've created Green Ash - the perfect blend of exclusively Beeswax and Coconut Wax, enhanced with only 100% essential oils for scent. I take pride in sourcing all my Beeswax from Canadian beekeepers. Yes, you can buy cheaper beeswax from China!
After countless hours of online research and browsing through stores, I realized there was a gap in the market. And I took it upon myself to fill that gap by crafting the best candles you'll ever come across. Think crackling wooden wicks (FSC Certified), reusable and sustainable containers, and, of course, incredible essential oils. Voila, Green Ash was born!
